Cape Community Pool Guidelines

Welcome to the Cape Community Pool! This is a valuable shared space, and its usage is regulated by New Hanover County to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all residents. Please review the following guidelines before using the pool.

General Use & Access

  • The Cape Community Pool is for residents and their invited family and guests. Residents must be present if non-family guests are using the pool.
  • Non-family guests are limited to four per day.
  • The pool is not available for rental or private parties.

Swim Programs & Equipment Restrictions

  • Swim programs (e.g., lap swimming, water aerobics) may be scheduled Monday–Friday mornings to maximize open swim time. Currently, no programs are scheduled.
  • Large flotation devices, including inflatable animals, are not allowed.

Safety & Security Measures

  • Cameras have been installed for security purposes—be aware that you are being filmed.
  • Pets and other animals are not permitted in the pool or inside the fenced area.
  • An outdoor shower is available—please shower before entering the pool.
  • A 911 emergency phone is located on the east side of the pool house. This line is directly linked to county dispatch and should only be used for emergencies.
  • Children under 16 must be supervised at all times. Authorities may be contacted if a child is left unattended.

Hygiene & Prohibited Items

  • Polluting the pool is strictly prohibited.
  • Swim diapers are required for bathers who are incontinent or not yet toilet trained.
  • Glass items (bottles, glassware) are prohibited inside the fenced pool area. If glass is broken in the pool, the health department requires draining and cleaning before refilling. The cost may be billed to the responsible resident.

Thank you for following these guidelines to help maintain a safe and enjoyable pool environment for everyone!
